So for a Harry Potter baby shower getting balloons and making them look like owls. Be sure to get a white one and make it look like Harry’s owl, Hedwig.

6. Floating Candles

These candles are easy to make and add a big part to a Harry Potter baby shower. However, if you decide to have these, be sure to float them over a table so that they are not a hazard to your guests, especially taller ones.

7. Howlers

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ron receives what is known as a Howler. All the students can hear Mrs. Weasley’s voice in the Great Hall after Ron opens the Howler; the Howler yells the message that she wrote in the letter. For a Harry Potter baby shower, hand everyone an envelope and a letter giving you any fun, magical suggestions for you as a new mom-to-be.

11. Hedwig-Shaped Vegetable Platter

As Harry Potter fans know, Hedwig is more than just Harry Potter’s owl; she is a friend to Harry. She is there for Harry when he is facing hardship. Just get an owl-shaped platter decoration to put your veggies on. You can use salad dressing for the eyes.

12. Basilisk Sandwiches

This is easy; you can just make any kind of sandwich that people like (except for peanut butter and jelly). Just add olives on top of the sandwiches for eyes and red pepper slices for tongues.

13. Nimbus 2000 Chocolates

It is easy to create these treats. You simply need mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and some stick pretzels. Be sure to make holes in the PB cups with a toothpick before putting the pretzel sticks in.

14. Quidditch Cake

You can buy a cake from your local grocery store, or make one yourself. Either way, make it round to match the look of the Quidditch field. You can use striped straws and binder rings to make the Quidditch hoops. You can also make a golden snitch chocolate and put it on top of the cake; just get a Ferrero Rocher Chocolate and glue some wings on with a hot glue gun (but be careful not to get glue on your cake).

Harry Potter Baby Shower Games

Here are some awesome games your guests will love.

15. Hogwarts House Quiz

This one is just what it sounds like; it involves having the guests fill out a simple survey to determine their Hogwarts house (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, or Slytherin). You can simply go online to find and print these quizzes.

16. Would You Rather

Everyone knows what this game is. For a Harry Potter baby shower, you can ask your guests questions that require them to choose between two Harry Potter things. Some examples include the following:

  • Travel by floo powder or ride a broom
  • Have unlimited supply of Butterbeer or Chocolate Frogs
  • Be friends with the Weasley twins or Cedric Diggory
  • Play Triwizard Cup or Quidditch
  • Be in Slytherin or Gryffindor
  • Have Professor McGonagall or Professor Lupin as your teacher

As with a regular Would-You-Rather game, choosing “neither” or “both” is against the rules. Some questions will be so difficult that the guests will either want both of the choices or neither of them.

17. Don’t Say, “Baby”

Remember all of those times the Harry Potter characters are told not to say the name, Voldemort (the Dark Lord’s name)? Well, this game is just what it sounds like; your guests must not use the word, “baby” during your shower. Give each guest a button that goes with the Harry Potter theme at the entrance. If someone uses the word, “baby,” that person needs to hand their button to the person they are having a conversation with. The idea behind this game is that everyone collects as many buttons as possible by the end of the party. Whoever has the most buttons at the end of the game is the winner.

18. Guess the Number of Bertie Botts Beans

This is just like ordinary games where people guess the number of a certain candy in a jar; just fill a jar with jelly beans (in this case) and have people guess how many jellybeans there are in the jar. Whoever guesses the number closest to the right answer gets to take the jellybeans home. You can label it “Bertie Botts Beans'' to fit the Harry Potter theme.
