The main cost considerations for bakery cupcakes are size, flavors, filling, decorations, location, and the cost of supplies for the baker. Mini cupcakes can oftentimes sell at a third of the price as jumbo cupcakes. Some flavors and flavor combinations will cost more than others, for example, chocolate and vanilla typically cost less than more exotic flavors like red velvet and strawberry cheesecake. The more complex the decorations the more expensive the cupcakes will be.
Cookie trays come in different sizes, with different numbers of cookies on them. Small trays typically have 45 cookies that feed 10 to 15 people. Medium-sized trays serve 25 to 40 people with 90 cookies. Large trays with 180 cookies serve up to 50 to 60 people. The more cookies on the tray, the more expensive the tray of cookies will be. The size of the cookies can also impact the price. If the cookies are decorated with more than icing and sprinkles there are sure to be added charges. Similar to cupcakes, the cost of ingredients needed to bake the cookies will be added to the price of the cookies.

The size of the cupcakes and the guest list are the primary elements you should think about. Ideally, each guest should be able to eat 1.5 full-sized cupcakes. When ordering mini cupcakes, the number can go up to 2 to 3 per guest. This number is flexible based on factors like other available desserts, and the number of cupcake flavors. If you have a large array of different desserts then you may be okay with ordering fewer cupcakes. Just as if there are multiple flavors of cupcakes, most of the guests probably won’t want one of every flavor so you can order less of each!
Cookie cakes are typically 12” across, with small variations in size with the average prices of $20 to $89. Though they also come in multiple sizes; 9”, 11”, 12”, 16” 18”, etc which will affect the price. A simple “Happy Birthday” message on the cookie cake will have the price in the lower range. The more you customize the cookie cake or request additional decoration pieces the more expensive it will be. The costs will also increase if there is a specialized message, the icing colors change for both the writing and the border, and any additional flavors are used in baking the cookie cake.
